Angels and ACIM

Before I started the Course, I read books about how to contact your guides (like this one) and had a lot of fun doing different practices to communicate with these guides. When I found the Course, I threw all that out the window. I decided that my only guide was the Holy Spirit and all else—angels, spirits, guides—was crap!

So when I would hear other students talk about how they contacted angels or guides in addition to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I was all, “THEY’RE NOT WORKING THE COURSE FOR REAL!”

Which is just a silly judgement, right? (And an example of the principle “You spot it, you got it,” because as I was saying they weren’t working the Course ‘for real’, I wasn’t working the Course ‘for real.’ Lol!)

The point of any spiritual path is to find tools that help you change your life. It’s all about what works for you, and respecting others’ process in finding what works for them.

So if angels resonate with you, call them in! Ask them for help on your journey! Jesus mentions angels all throughout the Course:

“Your newborn purpose is nursed by angels, cherished by the Holy Spirit, and protected by God Himself.” T-19.IV.C.10

“Around you angels hover lovingly, to keep away all darkened thoughts of sin, and keep the light where it has entered in.” T-26.IX.7

“Angels light the way, so that all darkness vanishes, and you are standing in a light so bright and clear that you can understand all things you see.” W-131

“Say [God’s] Name, and you invite the angels to surround the ground on which you stand, and sing to you as they spread out their wings to keep you safe, and shelter you from every worldly thought that would intrude upon your holiness.” W-183

“You do not walk alone. God’s angels hover near and all about.” W-Epilogue

“He will not leave you comfortless, nor fail to send His angels down to answer you in His Own Name.” S-2.III.7

In each of these passages, angels represent comfort, security, and strength. They are beings that support us on our path and help us grow. They are beautiful symbols of Holy Spirit and of God’s Love for us.

So don’t ever feel like you’re not working the Course if you’re calling in angels. Be open to whatever beings want to help light your way–and whatever resonates with you. Your path and practices will grow and change, so embrace the tools you’re given.

That goes for meditation or breathing techniques, Reiki, other books, channelings, etc. as well.

If you’re interested in ACIM teachers that work with angels, check out Sherri Lane and Deedre Statz. These two women are amazing! I’ve done angel coaching sessions with Deedre that were extremely helpful in my journey. Every message I got through these sessions was gentle, loving, and helpful. In my next post, I’m going to share something the angels told me!

So what do you think? Do you work with angels, or do you prefer to work one-on-one with Holy Spirit? Either way, it’s perfect. Either way, it’s beautiful.
